Golf is a fantastically popular sport the world over and is enjoyed by people of all age groups from young children right through to the older generation of people who play when they retire from work. The beauty of the game of golf is its simplicity coupled with its difficulty and technicality as well as it being a low intensity form of exercise which makes it good for people who are a little older in years. This low intensity form exercise is ideal for the older generation of people who may have problems taking part in other forms of exercise. The average round of golf involves approximately 5 miles of walking which is bound to help you keep fit. Around the world there are in excess of 32,000 golf courses, a number which is growing each year as the games gains even more of a global popularity. Over half of the world’s golf courses are in America, making it the most popular destination for people wanting a golfing holiday. But there are so many different countries around the world that offer a different golfing experience than that of America. Where are these courses and what do they offer the golfer?
Golf really is a strange game, one day you are at the top of your game and the next it can be like you have never ever picked up a golf stick in anger before, that is why you should try to play as many different types of courses as is possible. Different countries around the world offer the golfer a different golfing experience, with some of the courses being very flat and fast and some of the courses, especially those near a rugged coast line offering up a very windy course with thick rough and narrow fairways. Playing all of these different types of courses will definitely help your game to improve.
Scotland, the home of golf is a classic example of this type of course, wild winds blowing in from the sea across the course as well as a thick rough that is very difficult to get out of, but as the fairways are so narrow it is difficult to stay out of the rough. These are some of the most challenging courses to golfers anywhere on the planet. But that is the beauty of golf, just because you can master a Scottish links course certainly does not make you a world beater on other courses, different courses require a totally different set of skills to those used on a Scottish links course.
Spain is a very popular destination for golfers because of the amount of courses that are there, the weather and because of the different types of course that they have there. Golfing in Spain now offers a wide variety of courses open to the paying public from Championship standard courses to the smaller more local courses. Courses in Spain are well looked after and maintained and are generally on rolling round with blind corners and wide and fast greens.

Golfing in Spain offers something for all golfers and non golfers alike, if the non golfers or even the golfer’s fancies a day away from playing they can always go out shopping and spend some money for the day as all the golfing type complexes have shops of their own or they are a short journey to the local town. So if you think that you might fancy having a go at golfing in Spain then why not search the inter web for details on some of the wonderful courses that are there.
